How does one of the biggest bands in the world top all they've ever done? By recording an album in a garage. This album is by far the best Foo Fighters album so far. Not since The Colour and the Shape have we heard the Foos making the sound of a band ready to take on the world. After lots of experimentation with the albums between "Colour" and "Wasting Light" it's about time the Foos got back to basics. Now, I love all of the Foo Fighters albums, but this one takes the cake by far. From the opening strumming on "Bridges Burning" to the last chord of "Walk", you can tell they have been revitalized. With the rejoining of original guitarist Pat Smear, the guitars are even more intricate. The way Chris Shiflett's, Dave Grohl's, and Smear's guitars blend together makes you wonder why Smear is just now officially rejoining after having been a touring guitarist since the band did their tour behind "In Your Honor" that would result in the live album "Skin and Bones". The Foos might need to take a long time to figure out how they're going to top this album.
